holoride requires a minimal setup of the Vehicle Volume in order to avoid motion sickness caused by too much movement too close to the user. This includes the vehicle floor and the vehicle console.

  1. Vehicle floor – This is a safety feature giving the user a feeling of being grounded. It can be opaque or semi-transparent.

  1. Vehicle console – This acts as a “guardrail” defining the user’s safe space that no outside object can enter or intersect. Its other purpose is to help users identify the direction of movement.

Note: The vehicle console is also a place where important functionalities like the “restart localization” should be placed.
